This course aims to enable students to understand the basic concepts and principles of Islamic Psychology and the differences between Islamic psychology and Western psychology. The domination of Western psychology, which focuses on secularism, for one hundred years results in polemic among followers of different religions. Topics discussed include the basic concepts of psychology and Islamic views on it, Islamic perspective and its suitabiltiy in the modern age, the history of Islamic and Western psychology, human development according to Islam, children’s education according to Islam and mental health in Islam. At the end of this course, students should be able to understand the knowledge and the field of psychology from the Islamic perspective,which are based on divine sources (Al-Quran and Hadith).
